╔════════════════════════════╗ Fuzzy and friendly gophers; press your
║ <Gopher> to GOPHER.CIC.NET ║ ENTER key or RIGHT ARROW when this is
╚════════════════════════════╝ highlighted to find out how to "gopher".
The easiest way to access the CICNet archive of electronic journals is
by pointing a gopher client to the CICNet gopher. The address of the
CICNET gopher is: GOPHER.CIC.NET
There are a number of other gophers out there that point to the CICNet
archive, point to other gophers which maintain e-journals, or maintain
their own collection of e-journals. For example, point a gopher client
to North Carolina State's "Library Without Walls": DEWEY.LIB.NCSU.EDU
and explore "the Stacks".
╔════════════════════════════╗ Cold and heartless FTP; press your
║ <FTP> to FTP.CIC.NET ║ ENTER key or RIGHT ARROW when this is
╚════════════════════════════╝ highlighted to find out how to "ftp".
File Transfer Protocol, or FTP, allows one to look at directories of
files on other computers (yes, that's what gopher does also). FTP is
useful when one wishes to transfer large numbers of files, such as every
issue of a given title, to your own computer.
